Oneonta Rotarians spent a busy December serving the community bringing holiday cheer to those in need.
December was a very busy time for Oneonta Rotarians! For the first two weeks of December, Oneonta Rotarians and family members were busy purchasing holiday gifts for children. The club worked with Family Services Association and Catholic Charities who identified children in need. Funds of $150/child are provided yearly through the Oneonta Rotary Fund Axel Axhoj Fund. As a child, Axhoj's family had little to spare at the holidays and he established the fund to make sure that children in those circumstances could still enjoy a merry Christmas. Rotarians delivered the items to the agencies for distribution on December 16th. On December 14th, Rotarians and family members continued to serve the Oneonta community by "ringing the bells" for The Salvation Army. Thank you to Cecily Secoolish and Sarah Patterson for managing the holiday shopping project and to Scott Davis and Dr. Bob Davidson for organizing the ringers!
