At the February 6th weekly meeting, Oneonta Rotarians wrote 400 personalized Valentine and thank you card to the residents and staff of A.O. Fox Nursing Home and Chestnut Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
With pens at the ready and hearts filled with good will, Oneonta Rotarians gathered at the February 6 weekly meeting to carry out the 5th Annual Valentine Card Outreach Project. Club members wrote personalized messages of good cheer and gratitude to residents and staff respectively,  of A.O. Fox Nursing Home and Chestnut Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. The Valentine Card Outreach Project was started by Lynne Sessions in 2021 during the COVID pandemic to reach out to many of our most vulnerable citizens who had been  living in quarantine for a very long time and to thank the staff who showed extraordinary commitment to provide care and comfort in incredibly difficult circumstances. Working with lists of the first names of residents and staff of the two organizations, Rotarians wrote personalized messages to over 400 individuals. President Meghan Sheehy then delivered the cards in time for Valentine’s Day. Thank you to everyone who wrote cards at the meeting and took cards home to complete the project and thank you to Meghan for coordinating the lists with administrators at the two organizations.
